Privacy
Last updated: 27/10/2026
This policy explains what personal data we process when you visit machenta.com, sign up for early access, apply for a role or contact us, why we do it, and what rights you have.
Who we are
The controller responsible for your personal data is Machenta Ltd, registered in England and Wales under company number 16594535, registered office: Unit 2c, 9-15 Elthorne Road, London, N19 4AJ. For any questions about privacy or this policy, contact us at hello@machenta.com.
In short
- We count visits with Umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that sets no cookies. We do not use advertising or tracking tools, and we do not sell your data.
- We only set cookies that are technically necessary.
- We only process the data you actively give us (early access sign-up, job application, email) plus the technical data needed to deliver the website.
Visiting the website
When you visit the website, your browser automatically sends technical data to our servers: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer, browser type and operating system. We need this data to deliver the website securely and to detect and prevent misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR / GDPR).
The website is hosted by Vercel Inc. (440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA), which processes this data on our behalf. Server logs are kept by Vercel for a limited period and then deleted automatically.
Images and videos are delivered by Sanity AS (Oslo, Norway), the content management system we use, via its content delivery network. When an image or video loads, your IP address is processed by Sanity to deliver the file. Longer videos are streamed via Cloudflare Stream (Cloudflare, Inc., USA): when such a video plays, your IP address and technical data are processed by Cloudflare to deliver it in a suitable quality. The fonts on this website are hosted by us, so no data is sent to font providers.
Website analytics
To understand how the website is used, we use Umami, an open-source analytics tool, run on our behalf by our web agency on a server in Frankfurt, Germany. Umami sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It records the page visited, the referring website, browser, operating system, device type and the country derived from your IP address. Your IP address is not stored: it is only used to calculate an anonymous identifier that changes regularly, so visits cannot be traced back to you. We only look at the data in aggregate, to improve the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving our website (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR / GDPR). If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, no visit is recorded. You can also object at any time by emailing hello@machenta.com.
Early access sign-up
If you register for early access to our model, we process your name, email address and, if you provide them, the robot arm(s) you plan to use and what you would like to do with our model. We use this data to contact you about early access and related updates. The legal basis is our legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR and, where applicable, EU GDPR) in managing early-access requests and sending updates about them. Your sign-up is sent to us by email via Resend (Resend, Inc., USA; data stored in the US) and kept until early access opens and for up to 12 months afterwards, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
Job applications
Applications are handled through Ashby (Ashby, Inc., USA). When you open a role, the application form is loaded from Ashby, and the data you submit (such as your name, contact details, CV and answers) is sent directly to Ashby and processed on our behalf. We use it only to assess your application and to communicate with you about it. The legal basis is steps prior to entering into an employment contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in recruiting (Art. 6(1)(f)). If you are unsuccessful, we keep your application for six months after we have finished considering you for all roles you have applied for. We then delete or anonymise it, unless you agree that we may keep it for future roles. Machenta is responsible for how your application data is used. Ashby’s privacy policy explains how Ashby processes personal data in its own capacity: https://www.ashbyhq.com/privacy.
Contacting us by email
If you email us, we process your email address, the content of your message and any details you include, in order to reply. Our email is provided by Google (Google Workspace). The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f)). We keep emails as long as needed for the enquiry and any follow-up.
Service providers and international transfers
We only share personal data with service providers that process it on our behalf under a data processing agreement: Vercel (hosting), Sanity (content and media delivery), Cloudflare (video streaming), our web agency (website analytics, hosted in Germany), Ashby (job applications), Google (email) and Resend (early access emails). Some of them are based in, or transfer data to, the United States. Where this happens, transfers are protected by the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and/or standard contractual clauses (including the UK International Data Transfer Addendum).
Do you have to provide your data?
Providing personal data is voluntary. You can visit the website without giving us any personal data beyond the technical data your browser sends. If you do not provide the required details in a form (such as your name and email for early access, or your contact details and CV for a job application), we cannot process your request or application.
No automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making or profiling that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Security
All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We and our service providers use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR and, where applicable, the EU GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you,
- have inaccurate data corrected,
- have your data deleted,
- restrict or object to processing, in particular processing based on legitimate interests,
- receive your data in a portable format,
- withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing that took place before.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@machenta.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) or, if you are in the EU, with your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or services change. The current version is always available on this page.
